Description
Early modern Jugendstil side chair by Heinrich Vogeler, circa 1910, Germany. Frame carved from blackened oak, square legs (square back legs taper), rushed trapezoidal seat, openwork beaded (bobbin) motif decorates backrest and space between seat and side stretchers. Reverse of backrest is marked "H. W. V." (Heinrich Vogeler, Worpsweder Werkstätte).
