Set of Eight Edward Wormley for Dunbar Curved-Back Dining Chairs, 1948
An elegant set of eight dining chairs designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar Furniture, comprising Model 4580 side chairs and Model 4581 armchairs.Features sculptural solid mahogany frames with gracefully curved backs, hand-caned backrests, and original upholstered seats. Retaining their original Dunbar craftsmanship and refined proportions, the chairs exemplify Wormley’s blend of modernism and traditional elegance.

Original Dunbar label affixed to the underside: “Dunbar, Berne, Indiana.”
Condition
Original mahogany frames and caning remain intact. Wear is consistent with age and use, including minor surface wear. The original upholstered seats are present and would benefit from reupholstery. Reupholstery services are available using the customer’s own material (COM). Overall, a well-preserved and highly desirable set ready for restoration or immediate use. -
