Description
An Edwardian armchair in mahogany with upholstered leather back, sides, and loose cushion seat. The frame is outlined with brass nailhead trim. The seat is raised on ball-and-claw front legs with acanthus carving above, and splayed rear legs. The apron presents a pierced frieze with geometric and quatrefoil cut-outs, reminiscent of Gothic revival motifs popular in late 19th-century English furniture. The shaped back is outlined with nailhead trim continuing along the rolled arms.
