  • Description
    German born Egon Eiermann was a leading architect and industrial designer whose work with Grieneisen in the late 1930s included designing apartments and residences in and around Berlin. This set of chairs is from the post-war modernist masterpiece of design for St Matthew’s Church in Pforzheimer (1951-1953) along with the architect firm of Wilde+Spieth. Each chair has a light beechwood frame and teakwood chair backs that contain a small shelf behind intended for a hymnal. Strong willow seating in very good condition. Set of six. 1953.
