Vintage Modern Leather “Pirate” Lounge Chair by Elsa & Nordahl Solheim

Description
A rich and interesting vintage lounge chair designed by Elsa & Nordahl Solheim for Rykken and Co. of Norway, it is a remarkably high quality and precise chair with gorgeous chromed steel that has been exceptionally machined. The covering is an original top-grain caramel leather cushion with tufted form and a head rest, this slung over a canvas backing tied into the steel. Crafted of a heavy bent flat bar, the open arms rise in parallel to the seat frame, the cold steel made comfortable with stitched leather slip sleeves. The curvature and bounce of the steel make the chair remarkably comfortable.
Measurements: 26 3/4" D x 34 3/4" H x 24 7/8" W; 17 1/2" H to seat
Condition Report:
Chrome polished and cleaned, pitting and spots of chrome loss on one leg. Leather cleaned and oiled, but discoloration and wear remain present (see images for examples). -
