English Regency Faux Papier-mâché Caned Bergere or Armchair, circa 1830

Description
A wonderful circa 1830 English regency caned bergere having allover japanned, abalone-inlaid, gilded, and painted 'rococo' decoration imitating papier-mâché on rounded continuous crest rail ending in scroll arms, the D-shaped seat with upholstered squab cushion on front turned and splayed rear legs all on original brass casters. Seat height given is with cushion; height from floor to top of the seat rail is 13.5"; arm height is 24.5".
