Description
With an elegantly cosy appearance, this chair is a stylish example of the soft, curved aesthetic side of mid-century modernism in Europe. Adopting the trend of abandoning ornamentation to benefit the form, the designer of this chair managed to maintain the beauty and warmth of this style of enveloping design.
This chair exudes quality and personality from all angles. Its classic shape is formed by the generous seat and embracing, enveloping back. The large, curved backrest - that constitutes the armrests as well - follows the curve of the voluptuous seat and slopes downward gently. This creates an inviting and open look which is a signature characteristic of mid-century modernism. Thanks to the sinuous, large surface, the texture of the light bouclé fabric dominates the overall look of this armchair. The short, stained wood legs prevent the chair from looking heavy by slightly lifting it off the ground, while their warm brown colour nicely complements the soft, light colour of the body. From the muted colour scheme to the material choices, and quality, this chair exudes the essential mid-century modern aesthetic. It is therefore the perfect choice to add that cosy charm into any space.
Without any tufting or festooning, the focus here is on the round, flowing lines. Thanks to the bold bouclé fabric, the chair has a natural, textured look, making it ideal to blend a stroke of modernity to any space, with a nod to organic, simple artistry.
