Description
A three-seater sofa by Erik Møller. The sofa stands on round, beech legs and has a blue wool buttoned upholstery. It was used in Erik Møller’s own home and was designed in the period when the city hall of Århus was built (1937 - 1941), which he designed with Arne Jacobsen, together with furniture for the building.
Whether the sofa was designed by Erik Møller alone or if Arne Jacobsen was involved, is not clear. However, the shape of the sofa is reminiscent of Jacobsen’s sofa for the Rothenburg house and also the furniture he designed for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition together with Flemming Lassen in 1932. -
