A French Louis XVI period carved wood armchair from the late 18th century with oval back and tapestry upholstery. Born during the second half of the 18th century, this exquisite single armchair features a molded oval back, adorned with carved roses on its crest. Two open arms with scrolled knuckles and partial upholstery, rest on the front legs. The chair is upholstered in an exquisite floral tapestry with scrollwork, whose delicate design compliments the neoclassical lines beautifully. The ensemble is raised on four fluted tapering legs, adorned with carved rosettes on their front knees while the skirt echoes the roses of the upper section. With its elegant Louis XVI silhouette and refined upholstery, this 18th century armchair will bring a touch of French elegance to any home, whether placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer. The seat is 19.25" deep.
