Description
A French Louis XVI style painted wingback bergère chair from the 19th century, with carved decor and new upholstery. Born in France during the 19th century, this lovely 'bergère à oreilles' features a winged back topped with a carved cartouche in the center of its upper rail, flanked with petite finials. The two arms, providing convenient privacy to the sitter, are adorned with scrolled extremities accented with acanthus leaves. The armchair is upholstered with a new double welt fabric while the seat comprises of a custom cushion. Raised on four fluted legs with carved rosettes on the knees, the bergère presents a carved apron. Painted in a soft color complimenting the classical lines beautifully, this French 19th century Louis XVI style bergère wingback chair will bring a touch of refinement to any living room or bedroom. The arm height is 26".
