Description
A refined Scandinavian bureau dating to circa 1790, crafted in pine with a beautifully aged painted finish that reflects the understated elegance of late 18th-century Northern European design. The softly worn white surface, paired with original brass hardware, gives the piece a graceful balance of formality and warmth.
The slant-front opens to reveal an exceptional fitted interior, painted in a contrasting deep blue-grey tone that beautifully highlights the craftsmanship within. Multiple small drawers line each side, complemented by open arched compartments and a central locking cabinet, all arranged around a spacious writing surface. This thoughtfully designed interior was created for organized letter writing, document storage, and personal keepsakes, adding both charm and functionality.
Below, three full-width drawers provide generous additional storage for larger papers, linens, or household items. A sophisticated and highly practical antique, ideal for a study, bedroom, or living room, bringing late 18th-century Scandinavian character and elegance to any interior.
Desk Height: 28"
