Danish Solid Beech Armchair with Woven Papercord Seat and Back, Denmark 1940s

This classic armchair stands as evidence why many Danish architects succeeded at the craft of furniture design. As the name implies, it is a product of Denmark that became an important material in the Danish Modern period of the 1940s and 1950s. The woven or basket form of seat of this chair has a tight, visually pleasing pattern in great condition. This armchair has an equally arresting stained beech structure that shows great craftsmanship.
