Description
This individualistic chair possesses a look that is eternally relevant regardless of current trends, a charm that would likely be called ‘the mid-century modern style’. Even after decades, interior items from Italian manufacturers look like works of art. This lounge chair exemplifies modern design that leans toward a minimalist approach with open spaces and clean, refined lines.
The design language is entirely dedicated to the organic-modern style of the 1950s. Much like in Scandinavia, the mid-century era in Italy gave form to furniture pieces defined by quality, functionality, and reliability. The curved seat gives this model a sculptural and striking appearance. The splayed legs made of lacquered brass are very characteristic of the era, adding a modern touch to the body. The black lacquered legs are quite simple, which is a great design choice that contrasts with the colour and soft texture of the upholstery, while also letting it stand out. This lounge chair can seamlessly integrate into a variety of design schemes, enhancing the overall aesthetic and imbuing the space with a touch of timeless Italian elegance.
Like their international contemporaries, Italian designers prized the marriage of form and function, but there are a few key differences that set Italian mid-century design apart. In Italy, good design was generally defined by unique forms, perfect execution, and a strong sense of exclusivity.
