Description
George Mulhauser designed this Mr Chair and ottoman in brand new black diamond tufted leather. The Mr Chair first debuted at the International Home Furnishings Market in Chicago in January of 1960. We love these chairs for their amazing bent wood plywood and beautiful walnut wood grain.
the "Mr. Chair" designed by George Mulhauser, which is an iconic piece of mid-century modern furniture. George Mulhauser was an American industrial designer known for his contributions to the furniture design industry during the mid-20th century.
"Mr. Chair" is often associated with the Plycraft company, for which Mulhauser designed it in the 1950s. The chair features a distinctive organic shape with a molded plywood shell for the seat and backrest, supported by a swivel base often made of aluminum. The design is characterized by its flowing lines and ergonomic form, providing both comfort and style.
The chair's design is often described as futuristic and sculptural, blending elements of modernism with a sense of organic warmth. Its unique form has made it a sought-after piece among collectors and enthusiasts of mid-century modern furniture.
Overall, George Mulhauser's "Mr. Chair" is celebrated for its innovative design, comfort, and timeless appeal, embodying the ethos of mid-century modernism
