Description
A Georges Candilis & Anja Blomstedt 'Lattes' chair, made of ash slats and feet connected with aluminum angle brackets. This piece is part of a lot of items from the Les Carrats resort in Port-Leucate, France. The resort was designed by Candilis and for the furniture he collaborated with Finnish interior architect Blomstedt in 1968.
The pieces were produced by the Sentou workshop. The furniture was designed to be cheap and easy to disassemble and transport. Georges Candilis (1913 - 1995) was a Greek-French architect. In 1945 he started to work for Le Corbusier, where he was involved in the building of the Unité d’Habitation in Marseille. He rose to fame with the buildings he designed with his partners Alexis Josic and Shadrach Woods.
We also have a smaller chair and stool from this series available. -
