Description
Pair of Italian Gigi Radice Armchairs from the 1950s
Pair of Italian armchairs designed in the 50s by Gigi Radice for Minotti, recently restored and upholstered.
Their comfort, thanks to the large backrest and padded arms, makes them the perfect armchairs for any room, combining sophisticated Italian design with functionality. In addition, the thin, stylized legs characteristic of mid-century Italy finished in gilded brass elevate the piece while providing lightness.
Early in his career, he worked as an art critic and editor, before turning to interior and furniture design in the 1930s. He began working with the Italian furniture company Minotti, where he designed elegant, modern furniture.
Over time, Radice became one of the most influential designers of his time, associated with the Italian modernist movement that emerged after World War II. He created furniture in wood and metal with clean, elegant lines, often in collaboration with renowned artists and craftsmen.
