Description
A “Wave” lounge chair by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti. Heavy textured metal base supports a wave form upholstered seat. Newly upholstered in green leather. 2 chairs available, sold separately. Sourced in Northern Italy.
Giovanni Offredi (1927–2007) was an Italian industrial designer known for his sleek, modern furniture and product designs. He collaborated extensively with Saporiti Italia, creating some of his most iconic works, including the Wave sofa and Paracarro table. Offredi’s designs were characterized by clean lines, high-quality materials, and a balance between functionality and elegance. In addition to furniture, he also worked in product design, including appliances for brands like Fratelli Guzzini.
Saporiti Italia is an Italian furniture company founded in 1950, renowned for its avant-garde, high-end design. The brand became particularly influential in the 1960s and 1970s, collaborating with designers like Offredi to produce innovative, sculptural furniture pieces that blended cutting-edge technology with sophisticated aesthetics. -
