Description
This rare loveseat, designed by Giulia Veronesi and produced by ISA Bergamo in the early 1950s, belongs to the celebrated Perla series—an iconic seating design of the Italian Modern era. A matching pair of armchairs is also available.
The sofa’s sensual curves and elegantly tapered legs give it a sculptural, modern presence. This striking loveseat has been fully restored and newly upholstered in sumptuous olive-green velvet by Dedar. The fabric showcases a distinctive watered effect and a deep, luminous tone.
This sofa has undergone a comprehensive restoration: the legs have been refinished, the interior upholstery fully reconditioned and renewed, and the fully sprung seat ensures outstanding comfort.
Literature reference: Domus No. 274, October 1952, page 4.
Additional note: In ISA’s Domus advertisement, the Perla model was credited to “G. Veronesi.” It was long assumed that this referred to Guglielmo Veronesi. However, recent research has confirmed that the true designer was Giulia Veronesi. -
