Description
Lounge Chairs by Gustaf Axel Berg, Model Tösen
€8,000.00
A rare pair of lounge chairs designed by Gustaf Axel Berg, model Tösen, produced in Sweden during the 1940s. Executed in bent beech with Berg’s signature sculptural armrests, the chairs feature original woven webbing seats and backs. The flowing lines and organic proportions showcase Berg’s mastery of bentwood construction, placing him among the leading Swedish modernist designers of the period.
The Tösen model is notable for its light yet resilient form, balancing comfort with an architectural clarity. These chairs embody the Scandinavian ideals of craftsmanship, natural materials, and functional elegance.
Condition: Very good original condition with light wear and patina to the wood. The webbing remains strong but shows some staining, visible in the photographs.
