Description
Hans J. Wegner. JH 539. A patinated teak stool with woven cane. Designed in 1954, This is an early stool manufactured by Johannes Hansen. Hans Wegner always kept one of these in his home. This stool features beautiful and elegant curves, with wedge mortise and tenon joints at the top of the legs, and an elegant curved on both ends would be come a hallmark in later designs. Light weight and easy to move around. This piece can work well as stool or ottoman. It was designed to be a stand alone piece and was a precursor to Hans Wegner's Papa Bear Ottoman for AP Stolen. Last picture show the inside of Hans Wegner House in Denmark with the stool in the foreground.
