Harvey Probber bench curated by Michael Michalsky

Description
A two-seater bench, originally designed by Harvey Probber, has been redesigned by Michael Michalsky upholstered with patented leather (vernice leather) by La Gazarara. The wooden frame was treated using the Yakisugi method, a Japanese technique that chars the surface for durability and texture, then finished with tung oil varnish. The result is a fusion of classic design, modern materials, and craftsmanship. The SELECT PROJECT unites designers, artists, and visionaries in furniture restoration and customization. Through craftsmanship and creativity, each piece is transformed, blending history with modern aesthetics. Join us as we document the journey of reviving iconic furniture, merging tradition with innovation. Michael Michalsky, one of Germany’s most influential fashion designers, founded the “MICHALSKY” fashion label, having left a significant mark on the industry. With extensive experience at Levi’s, Adidas, and MCM, he now oversees “MICHALSKY” DesignLab, dedicated to product design, interiors, and corporate design projects.
