Description
Health chair designed 1938 by Hermann A. Sperlich and produced by Ironrite Inc., Detroit.
Important American modernist work chair designed for use with an ironing machine.
Painted steel and lacquered plywood.
This chair came to the attention of the design world when it was added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and was included in their Classic 1959 monograph: "introduction to 20th century Design.".
Early collector's item in its original condition and marked. -
