    Very Rare Pair of Chinese Export Padouk Wood Armchairs in the English Manner . Retaining the Original Surface and Having the most Wonderful Natural Colour.
    These Chairs are True Copies of Chairs being made in England with Eastern Timbers and with Chinese (Cantonese) Indistinguishable Artistic Merit.

    Literature: The insatiable interest in Oriental pieces resulted in an enormous range of varied household items individually created for the European market. Many of which are illustrated in "The Decorative Arts of The China Trade " by Carl Crossman. These rare chairs seem to be unrecorded at the time of going to print.
