Rare example of Brazilian modernism at its finest: the iconic “Jangada” lounge chair and ottoman, designed by Jean Gillon and produced by WoodArt in the 1960s.

Constructed in solid Jacaranda, in its original leather. handcrafted rope sling, expertly knotted and tensioned, supports the supple cushions in a way that makes the chair feel like a suspended hammock—hence the name Jangada, a nod to traditional Brazilian fishing rafts. Every peg, joint, and dowel reflects Gillon’s vision of raw elegance and material honesty.

Original WoodArt labels—beautifully aged and clearly visible beneath the frame.
