Description
A handsome Baltic Neoclassical Karelian birchwood and ebonized fruitwood seat bench with fine figurative Boulle brass work from the Baltic states circa 1850. Each of the scrolled arms feature a half moon arch of reflective ebony like timber inlaid with a floral border enclosing a pair of seated lions facing a tripod stand. This elegant example of free floating additional seating in an interior showcases the unique appearance of Karelian birch with its distinctive grain and warm color.
