Pair French Empire Style Bergeres
-
Description
This is an outstanding example of an empire-style bergere that was created by Karges Furniture c. 1980. The bergeres are beautifully upholstered in a richly muted French blue leather. The frames are of solid walnut and in an unadorned Empire, perhaps Deco, style. Both the frames and the leather upholstery is in remarkably good condition with the normal indications of careful use or patina. The bergeres are very comfortable and are ready for their new home. Two pairs are available.
***Karges Furniture company, located in Evansville, Indiana, dates to the late 19th century and is recognized as one of the premiere American furniture manufacturers. -
