Description
This stunning and understated pair of lounge chairs realized by the esteemed Karpen of California, circa 1960. They feature splayed legs in walnut resting on conical brass sabots. The legs adjoin at a curvilinear wishbone joint, continuing their angled ascent upwards to a subtly flared end. The back features channelled stitching that traces the contours of the curved seat. With their clean lines and casual elegance, these chairs embody the sophistication and timeless appeal of California Mid-Century Modernism at its very best. They would be an excellent acquisition for collectors of first-rate midcentury furniture, or for those simply looking for gorgeous lounge chairs. It has been newly reupholstered in a off white tweed Holly Hunt Fabric and is in mint restored condition.
