Description
Eero Saarinen’s Pedestal Collection is one of the most recognizable forms in furniture design. Colloquially known as the “Tulip”, Saarinen’s mission was to resolve the chaos under furniture of the 1950’s. In a world where brown wood table legs clashed with their legged chair counterparts; his solution was a single “Pedestal”, a uni-leg which met the floor with such grace never before seen in furniture. The revolutionary form gained popularity and the collection grew to include Dining & Accent Tables, and as shown here; Dining Chairs.
We have a set of 4 of these chairs available, all in a glossy black finish with matching black leather. These chairs are also equipped with the option swivel mechanism making them optimal for use in a multitude of settings. These chairs are all-original and each has received a thorough inspection and cleaning in our Workroom. There is minor wear consistent with age and history, they are however in exceptional condition considering their age. Also available are 4 Tulip Stools also in matching black leather. -

Message from Seller:
Stories exist in many forms, we see them in objects. The aesthetic of those before us is passed down through their surviving creations. These are the objects we search for; to preserve, refine, & continue the story. Object Refinery combines design obsession, fine craftsmanship, and a love for history in our worldwide search for objects. Based in Connecticut, USA; we partner with a network of local artisans to restore and refine our findings before passing them on to the next collector.
