Description
Graceful and inviting, this late 18th-century Swedish Rococo settee embodies the understated elegance for which Swedish interiors are so admired. Its beautifully sculpted serpentine crest and flowing seat rail create a sense of movement and lightness, while the refreshed patina in soft Gustavian tones highlights the character and history acquired over generations.
Raised on cabriole legs terminating in charming hoof feet, the settee displays the whimsy and refinement characteristic of Swedish Rococo design. The sophisticated silhouette—echoed in the gentle curves of the crest, arms, and apron—speaks to the craftsmanship of the period and lends the piece an enduring sense of grace.
Newly upholstered in a designer linen toile featuring an enchanting pastoral scene, the fabric beautifully complements the frame's soft palette and romantic lines. The result is a piece that feels both historically significant and effortlessly livable.
Equally at home in a sunlit sitting room, library, or bedroom, this exceptional settee offers that rare combination of comfort, patina, and timeless beauty that defines the finest Swedish furniture. -
