Modernist Le Corbusier LC2 Model For Cassina Brown Leather Italian Armchair 1980

Iconic LC2 “Fauteuil Grand Confort, Petit Modèle” armchair, designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand and manufactured in Italy by Cassina.

The armchair features the model’s characteristic exposed tubular chrome-plated steel frame, surrounding a series of independent cushions upholstered in warm orange-cognac leather. The polished metal structure creates a distinctive contrast with the generous upholstered volumes of the seat, backrest and armrests.

Originally designed in 1928 and presented at the Salon d’Automne in Paris in 1929, the LC2 became one of the most recognizable pieces of 20th-century Modernist design.

Manufactured by Cassina and bearing the manufacturer’s mark.
