Description
This is a rare Lobi, Burkina Faso, hand carved stool that dates to the early 20th century. The stool is Zoomorphic in form and represents a crocodile. The stool is in overall very good condition considering its age and use. The Lobi stools were carved from single blocks of wood. The more valuable stools are anthropomorphic, with the zoomorphic stools also having a higher valuation. This stool would make a superb addition to a 20th century art collection or as a contrast element of a period-designed space.
