Description
The definition of minimalism in a singular design, achieved by the great Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929; the Brno Flat-Bar Chair is just that. Montage has edited these contemporary iteration authentic originals in a way that’s never been done before.
Montage has been restoring Brno Flat-Bar Chairs for years right in our very own workroom. The chairs shown feature a rich velvet from our extensive fabric collection in the color Dove. These “refined originals” evolve Mies’ famed 1929 design with a glistening Obsidian Gloss powder-coated finish on their frame, a process which achieves an incredibly durable coating that will outlast countless generations to come. This finish, offered exclusively by Montage, takes this design classic to the next level and celebrates it as the art form it truly is. Each chair retains its mark of authenticity under the arm indicating “Knoll Studio” accompanied by Mies van der Rohe’s signature.
Montage's Brno Flat-Bar Chairs are available in any quantity and can be upholstered using our wide selection fabrics & leathers and of course COM. Feel free to contact Montage to request a swatch of material in your desired color. These are always upholstered and powder coated to-order ensuring excellence in quality with every piece. Aside from the shown “Obsidian Gloss” finish, Montage also offers Brno Flat-Bar Chairs in stainless steel (early iterations) as well as chromed steel (newer iterations). The exclusive “Obsidian Gloss/Matte” & “Lunar Gloss/Matte” finishes have added lead times to ensure perfection, worth the wait.
