Description
A very rare pair of lounge chairs manufactured by Ditta Porino (Turin, Italy) in the 1930s.
Crafted during the interwar period, these chairs showcase remarkably clean and minimalist lines, accentuated by the use of curved beechwood for both the frame and legs, and cane for the seating surface.
Porino’s design incorporates a highly innovative modular concept for the period: by inverting the two legs (see the last image), the cabinetmaker can reconfigure the same pieces into two distinct models—a lounge chair and a rocking chair—simplifying the building process.
These armchairs have undergone a comprehensive restoration process. Our in-house restoration atelier meticulously hand-knotted the cane, ensuring that the chairs are not only in excellent condition but also prepared to endure for many years.
