Scarcely seen wide, armless lounge chair designed by Mel Smilow for Smilow-Thielle in the 1950s. Includes the original, oversized ottoman, which can double as a coffee / wide side table (cushion is removable, straps snap into the underside of the frame). Solid walnut construction with newly upholstered Ralph Lauren leather cushions featuring button-tufted detail. Additionally, a Ralph Lauren brown suede lining has been fitted to cover the springs in order to protect the bottom of the cushion from scratches / scuffs. Sharp, sleek lines defined by the dramatically contoured legs and chair frame. The original steel straps and metal springs are sound. Walnut has been refinished; only minor wear remains.
Chair measures: 36" L x 30.25" D x 29.5" H (Height to back of the frame without back cushion is 26") x seat height 17"
The ottoman is 30.5" L x 30" D x 12.75" H (as a table), 17" H (as an ottoman with cushion).
