Midcentury Modernist Smoked Pewter Mohair & Ebonized Walnut Sculptured Leg Bench
-
Description
This elegant and sophisticated bench was realized in Italy, circa 1950. It features highly unusual and sculptural ebonized walnut chairs featuring a stylized wishbone motif. The curvilinear legs form a y-pattern where they adjoin the undercarriage of the bench and are connected via a side support. The legs appear poised for motion, embodying the verve and dynamism for which Italian Mid Century Modern design is celebrated. The seats have been newly upholstered in a sultry smoked pewter mohair which offers a perfect tonal compliment to the dark espresso hue of the ebonized walnut. With its clean modernist lines and refined color palate, this bench would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered and is in mint restored condition.
