Description
Designed by renowned Danish modern designer Niels Otto Møller (born 1920, Denmark), the Model 75 chairs reflect his masterful training as a cabinetmaker and his lifelong focus on refined craftsmanship. Møller became the primary designer for J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, the furniture company founded by his father, Jens Laursen Møller, in 1944—now celebrated worldwide for producing some of the finest examples of Danish modern seating. This set was likely produced between 1957 to 1960, placing it in the highly sought‑after early period of Møller’s work.
Crafted in solid teak with original hand-woven Danish paper cord seats and the original nailed fasteners holding the cord seat construction in place. These chairs showcase Møller’s signature clean, organic lines and exceptional joinery. The warm, beautifully aged patina highlights the striking natural grain of the wood, with subtle variations that give each chair unique character. All 8 chairs remain in excellent vintage condition, with tight, well-preserved paper cord seating. Each retains the original J.L. Møller burn mark beneath the seat, confirming authenticity and quality craftsmanship. Prized for their comfort, elegance, and timeless design, Model 75 chairs are enduring icons of Scandinavian modernism—equally at home in curated interiors or everyday living spaces. -
