A rare and exceptional arm chair by Niels Møller, this Model No. 62 was designed by him in 1962 and is an exquisite example. Executed in solid rosewood, the chaotic and exotic grain still retains much of the original high burnish polish, a fine compliment to the original top-grain black leather covering. The sculpting of the wood is compelling: note the subtle and complex curvatures of the stiles, these continuing down into backward canted rear legs with an ever so slight taper; the front legs are a continuation from the outward splay of the open arms, this single solid piece of rosewood beautifully worked.
It is a powerful minimalist design element with a transparent form that views well from any angle.
