Description
A pioneer both in molded plywood and prefab housing, Norman Cherner studied and taught at the Columbia University Fine Arts Department and was an instructor at the Museum of Modern Art in New York from 1947 to 1949.
Cherner's molded plywood armchairs are a mid-century staple! Originally introduced in 1958, the "Pretzel" armchair has an organic form consisting of molded plywood. Light-weight, comfy and super sturdy.
Condition: Remnants of labels. All original plastic feet intact. Minor and hard to see walnut veneer patches to some edges. Professional full restoration includes a chemical cleaning of the old finish. Staining as needed. Satin sheen lacquer top coat provides fresh and durable luster. -
