Description
An exceptional pair of Swedish birchwood and upholstered armchairs, circa 1930s, designed by Carl Malmsten for SMF Svenska Möbelfabriken, Bodafors. Makers stamp on verso. Graceful scrolled and downswept backrests, armrests and supports, raised on sabre legs with inset horizontal carvings. A characteristic of the Malmsten - SMF design collaboration. New wool upholstery with contrasting piping.
