  • Description
    OSVALDO BORSANI ( 1911- 1985 )

Pair of fruitwood armchairs, Italy, ca. 1953

One of Borsani's most brilliant and revolutionary designs, and among his earliest for Tecno, the company he founded in 1953. A very rare model, in beautifully grained fruitwood. The chair seems about to take off like a bird in flight. Essentially a deconstructed armchair, its beauty is enhanced by the marvelous comfort of its ergonomic design.
First exhibited at the 10th Triennale in 1954 in Milan, the chair is part of the collection of, and on display at, the Villa Borsani.
