Pair of 69 chairs for Artek, by Alvar Aalto
-
Description
Chair 69 was designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek in 1935. It is one of Aalto's most well-known dining chairs and, with its simple yet lively character, fits effortlessly into any space. The chair features Aalto’s L-leg structure, where the legs are attached directly to the seat.
Chair 69 was originally designed for the Viipuri City Library. In addition to the building itself, Alvar Aalto also designed the interior, lighting, and furniture—including Chair 69. Its wide seat and backrest provide excellent stability and functionality. This vintage pair comes from Artek 2nd Cycle, a platform that gives Finnish design a new life by reselling pre-owned furniture and objects. - More Information
