Pair of Flemish Baroque Walnut Chairs, probably 18th century

$ 2,950
  • Description
    A commanding pair of Flemish Baroque walnut chairs, likely crafted by a skilled hand in the 18th century. The tall, elegant backs and sturdy turned stretchers are hallmarks of the Northern European tradition, where furniture was built with a sense of architectural permanence and formal grace.
    Circa 1750, these original period chairs were created during a time when the Flemish Baroque style continued to flourish in the provincial regions of the Low Countries.
    Carved from solid walnut with a rich, dark grain and upholstered in an aged tapestry fabric that carries the history of centuries. Rooted in the Baroque tradition, these chairs reflect the formal grandeur and sophisticated craftsmanship that defined the 17th and 18th centuries in Flanders.
