  • Description
    A fantastic pair of French Neoclassical-style painted and parcel-gilt side chairs, by Albert Mallet, Paris, c. 1890. Painted in pale-green, the crest-rails feature carved and gilded Grecian urns over reticulated splats of intertwined hearts pierced by a gilded arrow. The original gold velvet upholstery, centered by a large green medallion, is secured by brass nail-heads, supported on round tapering legs and ball feet. The underside of each chair bears the brass plaque:”FABRIQUE de SIÈGES/Albert MALLET/17 Faubourg St. Antoine/PARIS”
