Description
A pair of French Louis XVI style gilded wood bergères chairs from the 20th century with carved décor and fluted legs. Crafted in France during the 20th century, this exquisite pair of French Louis XVI style gilded wood bergère chairs showcases a refined elegance that is truly captivating. Each chair is crowned with delicately carved roses on the crest, adding a touch of romantic charm. The scrolling arms are partially upholstered and adorned with coin-stacked inspired motifs, accompanied by intricately carved acanthus leaves on the supports, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship.
The rails are enhanced with delicate beaded motifs, providing an elegant frame to the plush upholstery. The fluted legs are topped with intricately carved rosettes on the knees, further emphasizing the attention to detail and sophistication inherent in Louis XVI style. While the upholstery is in fair to average condition, it retains a used charm that complements the overall antique aesthetic of the chairs.
With a seat height of 18 inches and a depth of 19 inches, along with arms that stand at 24.5 inches high, these bergère chairs offer comfortable seating and an elegant silhouette. They would make a graceful addition to any living room, bedroom, or study, serving as both functional seating and a striking decorative element. Their timeless design and luxurious gilded finish ensure they will bring a touch of French sophistication and elegance to any home. -
