Exceptional pair of Late Gustavian chairs by Carl Johan Wadström (active Stockholm 1788-1816), having upholstered klismos style back rails and shield/lyre form black splats, turned front legs and sabered back legs, meticulously crafted in white-washed birch; Sweden, late 18th-early 19th century; signed CIWS, one with seal of Stockholm Chair Makers Office
