A handsome pair of armchairs featuring carved walnut and beech frames, notable for their refined symmetry and elegant neoclassical detailing. The frames are accented with subtle part-gilt finishes that highlight the intricate carvings, while the seats and backs are upholstered in celebrated Aubusson tapestry.
Circa 1880, these original period pieces were crafted during the Napoleon III era as a romantic revival of the storied Louis XVI style.
The frames are meticulously carved from walnut and beech with a soft part-gilt finish, paired with hand-woven tapestry upholstery depicting classical scenes. Rooted in the Neoclassical tradition, these chairs reflect the late 18th-century return to order and architectural grace, characterized by straight fluted legs and a balanced, scholarly elegance.
