Pair of Richard L. Sandfort Aluminum Lounge Chairs and Ottomans, 1950
Freshly Upholstered in Holly Hunt “Birds of Paradise,” Beta Blue
A sculptural and rare outdoor seating set by Richard L. Sandfort, Inc., circa 1950, comprising a pair of lounge chairs with matching ottomans. These pieces embody the easy luxury of mid-century California living—picture a young Norma Jeane lounging poolside in Beverly Hills on a Sandfort design.
Design & Materials:
– Painted aluminum frames with updated internal spring seating
– Reupholstered in Holly Hunt’s “Birds of Paradise in Beta Blue,” from The Great Outdoors collection
– 100% solution-dyed Sunbrella yarn with a stain-repellent finish
– Fabric rated for 50,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs (heavy-duty)
– New cushions for enhanced comfort and durability

About the Designer:
Richard L. Sandfort, Inc. was a boutique California furniture maker known for refined outdoor furnishings that married functional design with laid-back elegance. Their aluminum-framed pieces were sought after in luxury mid-century homes throughout Southern California. -
