A refined pair of early 19th-century Swedish Empire stools, distinguished by their dark painted finish and crisply carved neoclassical details. The square upholstered seats rest above friezes carved with repeating arch motifs and floral corner blocks, giving the pair a strong architectural presence.

The turned and fluted legs reflect the disciplined symmetry of the Empire period, while the dark surface creates a striking contrast against the light linen upholstery. Elegant and highly versatile, they work beautifully as footstools, extra seating, or at the foot of a bed.
