Refined pair of Swedish Gustavian armchairs, circa 1820, retaining their original pale painted finish and classic neoclassical form. Each chair features an oval upholstered backrest, gracefully curved arms, and fluted legs adorned with carved rosettes and acanthus detailing. The frames are delicately sculpted yet sturdy, exemplifying the balance of elegance and restraint that defines Swedish Gustavian craftsmanship. Upholstered in rich red fabric, the contrast highlights the soft patina of the original paint and brings warmth and vibrancy to the design.
