Description
Designed by Paolo Buffa for the Hotel Bristol, Merano, pair of camel or tan velvet lounge chairs or modernist wingback chairs with Italian conical walnut legs. Originally commissioned for one of Italy's distinguished luxury hotels, these elegant chairs exemplify Buffa's masterful fusion of refined Neoclassical influences and sophisticated Italian Modernism. The sculptural silhouette is characterized by a gracefully curved wingback that flows effortlessly into dynamically curved upholstered arms, creating an inviting and exceptionally comfortable seat. Elevated on finely tapered walnut legs, the chairs possess a graceful lightness while showcasing Buffa's celebrated sense of proportion and architectural balance.
Combining superb craftsmanship with timeless sophistication, these lounge chairs are equally at home in traditional, mid-century, or contemporary interiors. Their documented association with the Hotel Bristol in Merano further enhances their historical importance and desirability among collectors of exceptional Italian design. An outstanding and highly collectible example of Paolo Buffa's work, this incredibly chic pair of lounge chairs represents the enduring elegance and craftsmanship that define the finest Italian furniture of the mid-twentieth century.
Recently fully restored and newly upholstered in luxurious Holly Hunt Great Plains New Cotton Fawn velvet with new foam and down cushions for enhanced comfort. -
